Cookie Policy
Last updated: 5 June 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how GlycanAge Ltd (“GlycanAge”, “we”, “us” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on our websites, including glycanage.com and www.glycanage.com (together, the “Sites”). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to improve their efficiency, and to provide reporting information. We also use similar technologies such as local storage, session storage and tags, which we refer to collectively as “cookies” in this policy.
First-party cookies are set by GlycanAge.
Third-party cookies are set by service providers we use (for example, Google or Stripe).
Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser.
Persistent cookies remain on your device until they expire or you delete them.
2. How we ask for your consent
When you first visit our Sites, we show a consent banner managed by our Consent Management Platform, Usercentrics. Only cookies that are strictly necessary for the Sites to function are set automatically. All other cookies (analytics and marketing) are set only after you give consent.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by selecting “Cookie preferences” in the footer of any page, which reopens the Usercentrics preferences dialog. Your choices are shared across our glycanage.com and www.glycanage.com domains so you do not have to set them more than once.
3. Categories of cookies we use
3.1 Strictly necessary cookies
These are required for the Sites to function and cannot be switched off. They include cookies and storage that remember your consent choices, keep you signed in, and secure your session. They do not require consent.
| Provider | Name / type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Usercentrics (GlycanAge) | Consent records (uc_* cookie / local storage) | Stores your cookie consent choices | Up to 1 year |
| Firebase Authentication (Google) | Auth tokens (local storage / IndexedDB) | Keeps you securely signed in to your account | Until sign-out |
| GlycanAge | Session / security cookies | Security and core site functionality | Session |
3.2 Analytics cookies
These help us understand how visitors use the Sites so we can improve them. They are loaded via Google Tag Manager and are only set after you consent.
| Provider | Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics | _ga | Distinguishes unique users | 2 years |
| Google Analytics | _ga_<container-id> | Persists session state (GA4) | 2 years |
| Google Tag Manager | (manages tags) | Loads analytics and marketing tags after consent | n/a |
3.3 Marketing cookies
These are used to measure advertising effectiveness and, where applicable, to deliver relevant ads. They are only set after you consent.
| Provider | Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Ads (conversion linker) | _gcl_au | Stores and measures ad conversions | 90 days |
3.4 Functional / third-party cookies
Some pages embed third-party services that may set their own cookies when you interact with them.
| Provider | Example cookies | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stripe | __stripe_mid, __stripe_sid | Securely processing payments and fraud prevention at checkout | Up to 1 year |
| Calendly | Set by Calendly on interaction | Booking consultations through the embedded scheduler | Per Calendly’s policy |
The exact list of cookies (names and durations) can change as providers update their services. The authoritative, always-current list, including each individual cookie, is available in the Cookie preferences dialog on our Sites, which is powered by Usercentrics.
4. Managing cookies in your browser
In addition to our consent banner, you can control cookies through your browser settings, for example, to block or delete cookies. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the Sites from working.
To opt out of Google Analytics across all websites, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
5. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for legal reasons. We will update the “Last updated” date above when we do.
