Olga Zaitseva
Dr Olga Zaitseva graduated Biology at the University of Novosibirsk, Faculty of Natural Sciences in 2008 and obtained a doctoral degree in Biology (Genetics) from the Institute of Cytology and Genetics in 2013. From 2009 – 2014 she worked as a research assistant at the Institute of Cytology and Genetics in Novosibirsk, in the group for Genetics and Evolution of Legumes. From 2010 to 2014 she worked as a part-time teaching assistant for the sub-faculty of Molecular Biology at the Novosibirsk State University. She joined Genos as a postdoc researcher in June 2014. The aim of her project is to investigate the relationships between the glycosylation of immunoglobulins and immune response; currently, she is gaining experience in LC-MS and CE glycan analysis. She is also a part of the laboratory of Statistical Functional Genomics in the Institute of Cytology and Genetics and the laboratory of Theoretical and Applied Genomics at the Novosibirsk State University. Her research interests include evolutionary biology, human genetics, genetics of complex traits, methods of high-throughput glycan analysis, new generation sequencing.
HealthGlycans play an important role in the course of SARS-CoV-2 infection and should not be overlooked when searching for ways to understand and control this new disease. Glycans might become a great biomarker tool to predict disease severity, response to therapy and recovery prognosis.
